I moved to a new house that already had a chicken coop. It has so many sections I can’t figure out what there for ? I think one may be a brooder, and maybe another section for a rooster ? But there only one way in and out of the coop so seams like it be a hassle.

Coop description

one door from main run to Main coop, in middle of main coop there is a fence gate wrapped in a tarp, I think this is for winter?. At back of run there is a large box ( 6’w x 3’ d x 2.5’ t) it has a little door 6” x8” on front that can be closed. on top of this box they have hardware cloth with hooks so they can open or close the area above the box. (The box opens from top for access, 2 large )
At the back of run alittle section 5’x4’ that has a door and roof and above again is hardware cloth with hooks so it can be closed off.

Do you have any photos? Sounds like they may have had sections for brooding chicks, separating younger birds or possibly roosters. I have found that having areas to separate out younger birds/integration and rehab/hospital/jail areas is quite helpful.

So on outside picture far left is second Caged area and on top there’s hooked hard wire to open section on top or close it off same as consent in side

Its hard to say what they were using/thinking with all that is going on. They may have used one section for feed, maybe kept bedding too. It has potential to be a nice coop, I would cut some windows in to bring in more light on bad weather days when they are stuck inside. Nice and big!
