Coop with no floor under roosts...

Hi yall! This may be hard to explain.. how would it work if I put two roosts.. one high and one lower.. close in all four sides.. left openings up top for ventilation.. left a space for a doorway and a ramp to get up.. put in a small walkway the length of the roosts... but do not put a floor in so poop just drops to ground? I have a secure run...

Yes, the coop they are using now has no door.. I got more chicks so I need to expand the roosting area.. will keep the nest boxes where they are.. and add a couple more..

The open floor design is good to go then. How many birds do you have and how big is your coop/run?

Remember you need 4sqFt per bird in the coop and 10sqft per bird in the run.

Yes, it’s 12x12 = 144 square feet... 12 chickens... buuuut, we are expanding the secure run to 34x12.. and expanding sleeping and nesting...

The coop itself does. It look 12x12 but the run does. I would expand the coop.
