I wanted to whitewash (the real kind, not the "look") but didn't find lime I was positive was the right kind until after I painted.

Hello and welcome to BYC!

I like to use outdoor or deck paint for moisture.. both have been quite hardy, even with scraping.. like on the roosts and such, even using a shovel to remove bedding.

If I have an actual pest invasion after that then I use a permethrin based "perimeter spray" like Martin's 10. When needed for poultry lice or northern fowl mites t's been very effective (in my location) for use inside my unpainted pole barn AND on the poultry themselves.. Used according to directions, no egg withdrawal required.
