I'm converting a horse stall into a night time chicken coop since in the day they run with the goats in an enclosure.

I need to know do I need to put food and water in the stall/coop for night time and another set outside for the day??

Thanks for your help!!

Food and water are not required at night. Chickens sleep/roost during dark hours.

Make sure you provide roosts for them.

Obviously you need to provide food and water during the day.

Are the goats going to have access to the coop?

You will need to find some way to keep the goats out of the chicken feed.
Make sure that your coop is predator proof.

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to keep the stall as clean as possible and food and water just seemed messy....

The only issue I have currently with the goats is they like the scratch.... not much interested in the feed....

I have a lovely goat house that I got for free that was built by a carpenter....

Wish I could have found a coop just as nice.... oh well..

Again thanks.

i got chickens that free range and they have an open spot in front of the barn with 2 roosts.. food and water use to have a nest box there but they figured they like laying in my shed better so moved it there..
