Hi to all! I am new to BYC . I 'm citychicken 1. I have had chickens since Aug.2009 when I bought three at the state fair. I now have seven as yall say (fluffy butts), 1 Astrolalorp, 1 BO, 1Welsummer, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock, 1 Sussex and 2 EE. I work with preschool children and I have 1 son. I just built my first coop and run this past summer. Actually still putting on the finishing touches. My question is the coop is 2x4s and pressed sideing. It's about 10 inches off the ground . should I insulate for the winter or can I wait till summer to do it?

I guess it depends on where you live and what your weathers like!

I live in Lou Ky. so it jumps around a lot but I would say we have wet cold winters, for gardening we are zone 7. Forgot to mention 4x4 coop size, shed style roof with pitch 6 ft to 4 ft., and a vinal over plywood floor.
