Okay here are some more pics of our coop. We have hardwire cloth between roof and brick. Making it kind of a floating roof. My question is does anyone know what would be good to fill the area circled with. We still have the interior to do along with putting the run up.
 
Cement is probably your best bet but I would put hardward cloth in there across the gap and staple it to the wood, fill it up with the expanding foam 3/4 or so and then press on a piece of moulding or a piece of fitted board that you can screw into the vent frames on the interior and a piece to cover the front. Scrape any excess and you're golden.
