Good morning, all.










I wanted to share my coop photos with you - I copied the adorable "Hennebunkport" design I found on this site, but altered the size a little. My coop is 8X8. Tomorrow (July 4th) my 7 week old bantams, all 9 of them, will be moving into their new home. I can't wait to see their reactions to all the space! The run is being constructed this weekend - will be a little like Fort Knox since I don't want to lose any of my babies. I'll post photos of the run when it's done.

Thanks! I did way too much research, probably. This is my first chick experience and I find that I just love the little girls.

Thanks, Shawn. We did have fun..built it with my two grandsons (10 and 14), daughter and son-in-law. The run is done now, too. I'll post a picture this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!
How did your chicks manage last winter in the cold? You insulated.. How did you do the ceiling?

Hi, there. I used the very rough drawings that Hennebunkport posted on this site and then adapted it to my needs. We sort of designed it as we went, but the basics came from Hennebunkport. It should still be on this site if you do a search. Here's a more recent photo with the run on the side and back. Almost two years and nothing has gotten to my girls! Good luck with your coop.
