So, some of my flock has signs of canker and we just got the copper sulfate in the mail. I'm wondering, because our ducks live with our chickens, if they can have it. If anyone can give me the correct amount of how much copper sulfate I can use per gallon that'd be great. For chickens we have a few silkies and a frizzle, barred rocks and a few other mixed breeds. The rest are normal sized except for the bantams of course.

You should only use acidified copper sulfate. Dosage is 1/4 tsp per gallon of water, usually given for 3 days. Fish Zole (meteonidazole) is an antibiotic used for canker.
I'm not sure if it is acidified I bought it off of a hatchery website. I have fish zole, not enough for half of my flock(29 chickens in all) And it wasn't strong enough, as one that we had given fish zole too, got rid of it yet it came back. So we are now going to try Copper Sulfate.

The product sold by hatcheries is most like acidified as the pic below. You shouldn‘t use the Fish Zole (metronidazole) on chickens to prevent it, but only if you see the canker lesions inside the beak. Dosage is 250 mg daily for an average size hen. Do you have any pictures of the insides of beaks of the affected birds? Some people have used thyme extract for treatment as well, but I don’t know dosages or if it helps.

I sadly don't atm, I do have the outside of his beak, the bag is still in the box as we haven't opened it just yet. Here is the outside of his beak, we had used fish zole with his canker in his mouth, with worked but in the end it came back.

its blurry, I know, the camera I have is bad at focusing. As you can see, there are weird bumps with what looks to be the same type of what the canker is made out of inside them.

The metronidazole was effective. The reason it came back is because birds are carriers once infected with canker.
To keep it in check, provide your birds with the acidified copper sulfate once a month for 3 days straight and make it fresh each of those 3 days. Eggcessive provided the correct dosage.

Canker is a contagious disease and it can come back. It can affect your whole flock. Many cull birds with canker, and try to keep wild birds and pigeons out of waterers. It is good to disinfect all waterers and feeders with 10% bleach, and prevent the flock from drinking out of mud puddles. Of course all that is sometimes hard to do. We have wild birds around all summer.

Edited to say, this post is hours old, but I just realize I forgot to post it earlier.
