Copperhead Marans

Im just a rookie chicken breeder, wont argue about what you say the article is.
Just trying to figure out if my Marans have a common color style, and common egg color, or not.

Color: Not the MOST common, but not hard to find.
Egg color: Depends. Is your hen laying a deep brown?

I took it that the OP is asking about copperhead, not black copper, Marans....

I also assumed this was the same thing? I have personally never heard of copperhead marans.

I've never heard of copperhead marans either.
That rooster looks like a black copper marans.
Maybe the only difference is that the copperhead marans are poisonous and BCM are not.

Black Marans come from Marans in France. Black Copper Marans is as I undestand it is what the americans have decided to call the breed. Black Marans from France are not that common. BCM are now but they no longer have many of the characteristics that the true French Black Marans have.
If you look to your left that rooster in the picture is a French Black Marans. He came from Marans in France.

Okay. Looks like egg color is pretty good. Sometimes it’s not that dark. Nice birds.
