Copulation feather loss

Hey,
We have a couple of hens missing back and head feathers. I've moved them out. Will the feathers grow back? One has quite a large area missing, 3"x2".

The feathers will eventually grow back. You can buy chicken saddles for a few bucks each here on the site (auctions-everything else), or you can google patterns for them and make them. Saddles do nothing for the head feathers, but they protect the back feathers.
Do you have enough hens for your rooster?? Most recommend a 10:1 ratio... Is adding more hens an option? Of course sometimes you just have a really rough rooster (not a keeper in my opinion) and he'd be rough on 100 hens. Or sometimes certain hens just have poor feather quality that wear easily...
