SO I have 4 adult hens. Three are currently laying (one is older).
I picked up some chicks from 2-5 weeks and I was given a pair of bantams about 8 weeks.
The new ones are kept separately in a run adjacent to the hen house.
The hens free range and stay in the hen house at night, but do not go in the run with the young ones.
I found bloody stool in one 5 week hens poo and maybe some in one of the 8 week bantams poo. It seems like cocidosis (sp?).
My local feed store said it is common out here and the Corid should work. It has been a week the young one have been on Corid and the one 5 week chick I know had symptoms seems fine and the others seem fine.
I did not treat my 4 older hens. I see no bloody poo in the older hens. They some nights have watery poo, I find in the morning, but they eat a wide variety of plants and scraps.
Q 1) Should I treat the older hens or are they likely immune? If, I treat them do I toss the eggs or are they ok while on Corid?
Q 2) Do I give a vitamin supplement to the chicks after the Corid dose or should nutrena/purina chick starter be enough?
