I have a new flock 5 hens, 6 weeks old. Super fun.
We just moved them outside during the day.
These girls are pets and hopefully they will lay eggs as well.
I have a family member who is allergic to corn, very allergic.
We are all wondering if chickens can be corn free. I have read many post
about mixing whole grain feed and grinding it or not. Many a "google"
search for corn free chicken feed, but Im only finding soy free feed recipes?
In the wild chickens are omnivores and seemingly opportunistic feeder, so
the burning question is can backyard flocks be corn free?

5 chickens and counting

They certainly don't need corn. I have no idea where you could find corn free feed, though.

Chickens dont need corn. Corn an chickens are from different parts of the world. Have fun finding a feed that has no corn in it though. You could buy whole grains an mix your own feed.
