My geese have been enjoying the corn plants I've been uprooting from the garden. They eat the leaves and nibble the roots leaving the stalks. Corn cobs are a mystery until discovered by the ducks (who seem to eat anything.) Happy duck feasting noises draw in the geese who follow their little cousin's example. The husks remain uneaten.
Mine leave their feed over the corn husks. They get all the husks and the chickens get the cobs. They even eat the stalks. If you look at the pictures of Metzer Farm breeding pens there are bales of corn stalks (what's left after corn is harvested) for them to munch on.
