I have LOTS of frozen corn on the cob. My question is, should I take it OFF the cobb? Dry it? Any thoughts would be great!

If you mean to feed the leftovers to the peeps, throw the whole cob in there as is, after dinner. They'll strip it clean and you rake out the naked skinny cob when they're done. They can strip it much more effectively than you and LOVE this treat!

Actually, I meant I have a deep freeze FULL and my family won't eat it all before we harvest this summer's crop...So I figured it'd make a nice treat for them!!

Yep.... mine get the cob with bits of corn left after the kids have tried to eat em -

The chickens go NUTS and next day the cob is nice and clean.

I do cut em in half - for the kids and the chickens. then the chickens aren't ALL fighting over one or two - they can fight over 2-4 or more..............

(honestly - when I cook corn - I normally make sure there is more than we can eat, on the cob or not....

Just not frozen.............. let them thaw out or even steam or put them in boiling water for a while.

I have heard that chickens will go nuts for the dried corn on the cob - I've not tried that.

Wildsky, I'm guilty of overcooking LOTS of things...veggies, pastas, breads, etc...DH thinks I'm NUTS!! But my chickens love me!

Just thaw it and throw the cobs in there - they'll love it!
I've never frozen corn ON the cob before - I've always stripped it off first. I didn't know you could freeze it on the cob. That would be a time-saver; but I don't have a freezer that big!

We have a deep freeze strictly for our corn...Wrap it in foil, throw in a baggie, and voila! We grow LOTS of sweet corn so we have it all winter...NEVER buy corn!

I went to a party this last summer and they had corn on the cob I thought that was great unti she had someone cut the corn off the cob

I asked if I could have the cobs and I took them home and tossed them in the freezer and feed them to my flock.

I have never seen cobs cleaned that much before.

I throw the whole thing out there - even my ducks will have a go at it - of course their's always end up floating in the kiddie pool LOL

I lived in a house that bordered a farmers HUGE corn feild and he saw I had chickens/ducks told me I was welcome to steal a few ears for them when ever I wanted - it was not sweet corn I guess he called it " field corn " anyway the chickens loved it - even threw in the whole stock once in awhile and they torn it apart in no time !!
now that we have moved I have to buy the corn for them -
