Corn on the cob

When feeding corn on the cob to your chickens, do you shuck it first or do you just give the whole thing to them? Can/will they eat the husks?? I shucked 8 ears of corn today to give to our chickens and ducks, mainly for the chickens though. The ducks got peas!

No they need to be shucked so the chickens can get at the kernels.

That's what I was thinking too, but then I thought I wonder if they would eat them if they are not on the cob??? Didn't want to waste them, but I can put them in my compost I guess.

I always husk my corn before giving it to my girls. I don't know if they can eat husks but I wouldn't try it because they may get sour crop because the husks are very tough. So I wouldn't suggest giving them the husk
