Corn on the cob

Hi,
Our chickens love corn on the cob! I've never given them the husks, not sure about those. Corn is a treat for our girls because I've heard/read that corn doesn't give them a lot of nutritional benefits and I'd rather they eat more of what's good for them rather than what they just "like". It's sort of like little kids filling up on junk food and then not wanting to eat dinner!

We've given the girls both cooked and uncooked corn on the cob and they don't seem to have a preference one way or the other.

Funny about the 5 yr-old!

I was just thinking about this thread, and we also have offered both cooked and raw husked corn to our birds. We have about 20 pullets, it seems to me that different birds favor one style or the other. Much like green or red grapes, red ones win with most of the flock, but none ever go to waste.

So offer both to them, let them pick and choose that which they will dine on. We do indulge our birds…
