Corner Coop In Progress !

Thank you guys. Our pen is large enough for us to use some of the space of a corner, rather than building a coop on the side of it taking more yard space. What I like about it, its higher up for the roosting spots and it will give us 4 rows total to make lay boxes. As for as the umbrella goes, its for when the sun gets a bit to hot. We are fixing to go work on trimming out all the edges, work on roosting spots and nest boxes. I can't wait till its finished. :)

*Update* We been having one of those weeks when you want to work on something outside, mother nature says hey... lets have some rain today.lol We finally was able to work on the coop a bit more. While my husband was working on the nest box set, I decided to paint the front. We completed a 4 set nest box for our soon to be laying hens that are older than the ones in the brooder. We still have to put trimming around the front of the coop, put the metal on the roof, Put up roosting spots, the 2 in 1 door and lastly do the rest of the painting. I think it is coming along great. Here is a few pictures of what was done today.

What you guys think so far ?

Looks great!

*UPDATE* We finally got a chance with all the rain we been having to work on our coop. We built roosting spots, Made/installed the door, Added old bricks in front of the coop at the bottom to eliminate any open gaps. When we get a few dry days of weather, I will be doing more spice color painting and using a copper brown for all the trimming. We will be working on gutters to collect rain water that will flow into a home made cistern and filter. We want to get a constant flow of water being filtered for our flocks drinking water. While my husband works on the water system. I will be finishing the painting and then start my decorations.
I hope the rough picture I created about how we want our watering system to work, give you all the idea.

Hello everyone. We been having rain daily, so its been hard to get work done on the coop and water system. We was able to complete most of the watering system. We just have to put up gutters and have a pipe from the gutters to the tank. In the picture I am posting. You can see the black tank on a stand. Pipes lead to the gutter attached to the bottom board of the fence. The water fills half way up the gutter(stays that height), drains out to a filter we have under the ground ( blue cover). The water is filtered and leads back to the beginning. Our flock seems to like the moving clear water. :) I hope all this makes sense. I am tired hehe

We can now do away with small water trays. Also that is our 5 gallon bucked converted into a feeder near one of our chickens. It is normally hanging for them, but we took it down for a cleaning. :)
