Cornish Cross sources and prices

I've ordered Freedom Rangers from JM Hatchery. I paid $1.25 per chick for the 167 I ordered and have sold about 100 through this thread.

I'd like to do a batch of Cornish Crosses later in the summer for comparison purposes. If I order a bunch I will go with Central Hatchery unless I hear something bad about them before I order. If I go with a smaller number, I will likely just get them at the local feed store.

ETA: My local feed store orders from Cackle and sells the Cornish Crosses for $1.45 which is $0.03 cents more than I'd pay if I bought 100 direct from Cackle.

I don't know if it is good or not, but hoovers hatchery sells pullets for .89.

I got mine for the first time this year from martis, don't know about them either yet. I get my chicks next week.
I only did it because I had issues with the place I went for our layers, never got back to me, I had a ship date for march, but where I changed my order the guy was suppose to email. The kids got excited and thought we were getting chicks in March. So I went to martis and got 10 layer and the rest cornish. I don't know how their birds are but I can tell you they are really nice. I told him I need them in march because of the kids and they worked with me so the order could come in march. If all my birds come in healthy, I would go back to Martis in a heartbeat, they really tried to adjust the order for my kids so we had chicks.

I'm zone 5 for their shipping purposes which means $41 for 100 chicks and I used straight run for consistency. I included shipping in the price I listed -- don't know how I came to $144, should have been $151 for straight run -- and stated that where it mattered, I used the shipping price to Maine.
