I have read some articles that suggest giving Cornish X's a vitamin supplement to help prevent leg breakage and other problems associated with this breed.

If anyone has any information they would like to share, I would appreciate it. I have 26 week old chicks right now, so if I need to do something, I would like to know.

hello,
i had 100 pulletts and did not give them an vitamin supplements .
we butcherd 91 of them at 8 weeks old .
they did fine without them.
We had jumbo cornish XX from Murray Mc Murray.

I usually add broiler booster to the water for the first week or so to help strengthen their legs.

I just got some a week ago and was wondering if you hold their feed every 5 days for 12 hours? Thats what I was told to do. It is the first time I got cornish rock. thanks.

I free feed for 12 hours a day and withhold all feed at night. They only get water at night after about 2 - 3 weeks of age.

I've raised batches with and without vitamin supplements. They may help a bit,but I think your protein % is more important with this breed.
I feed once a day and fill their feeders, many times they still have food left from the previous day.I don't take their food away, but notice they really don't eat without light.
My most recent batch were MMM jumbo-X's. Will
