So as the title says I have some Cornish cross with RI. I know must will just dispatch them and call it a day. But if I do treat the infection once cleared up would they be safe to eat? Of course after withdraw time ect. They aren't at the size to off them just yet anyway.

I would eat them after the antibiotic cleared the system. They would not be organic, but mine are not any way. If they recovered and got to the size you wanted, the time would be past. I would be worried about the cause of the infection and try to fix what was wrong with my system. Too wet? Get them vaccinated next time? Finding and fixing the problem first, treat & try to salvage this batch, then start over with new chicks.

Thank you, I think we will keep the ones that have recovered but dispatch the others. They are real bad off. The infection came from a rooster we got by someone dumping him off on us. He was isolated but he spread it to them.

Some of those bad things linger in your soil long after the birds are gone. It is very difficult to isolate a bird from the others on a small place. Sorry that happened from someone dumping off a rooster.
