Cornish Crosses feed question

Yes you can. It's a little unnecessary because you dont need such high protein in the final few weeks but if you just have a few birds- often times it doesnt make sense to buy extra bags of feed. In that case, you can absolutely grow them on high protein starter tbe whole time no problem.

we are getting 25 of them and are now worried bc we planned to use a out door brooding box. And the weather looks to be dipping down so i plan to wrap the tractor brooding box in plastic so that we can roll it up when its a little warmer till they can go to the big chicken tractor.

Define "dipping down".

And what does your outdoor brooding box look like?

I've had my Easter hatched chicks in an outdoor brooder with temperatures down into the 40's. It's draft-free and I used dual heat sources to ensure that the chicks were cozy.

You can see how I built my brooder here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/run-to-outdoor-brooder-conversion.76634/

And my Easter chicks here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/my-easter-eggs.1521380/

This is what it looks like with the Big Red Bulb and a brooder plate running at the same time.

My brooder is a rabbit tractor I built with a tote in it with the heat lamp above it and I’m gonna wrap it in plastic to keep it draft free. And cover the mesh flooring with straw and wood shavings. Was gonna use that barrel but think the tote upside down would be better

Make sure to leave enough ventilation. :)

And consider using a tarp rather than clear plastic so that it doesn't turn into a rotisserie in the sun.

our lowets day and night this week is 48 and 41 then it climbs up to about to lower sixtys day temp and low fifty's to sixty's at night

Is it true that i can feed my Cornish crosses chick starter from start to finish. has anyone ever done this before.
I wouldn't, too much protein and well let just say you'll end up with a s--- show. Lol I would switch to a broiler feed middle of the road protein if Thier able to free range. Higher protein if they are not
