Has anyone ever raised hens other than cornish or cornish crosses to slaughter at a young age? I was wondering if it is possible, because I'm short of space, and can't have roosters and sexed bantams are too expensive for what they're worth. Thanks

Game hens used to be literally game hens and not baby Cornish Cross.

But like you say, a bit expensive to eat if you can't keep roosters and hatch your own.

When the Cornish Cross are used as game hens, they are butchered very young, so they wouldn't be taking up all that much space and are a long time away from crowing.
