Cornish X and paper thin skins

I don't know if there is an answer to this but we started butchering our Cornish crosses today. Their skin is super this and very fragile. Is there a away to toughen the skin up?
 
If your problem is the skin tearing in the plucking process the water may be to hot or you have them in the water to long.
 
Ok I am going to have to get a new thermometer to check temps. I thought the temp was right but maybe my old one isn't ready accurately.
