A friend and I went together and purchased cx that arrived 4 weeks ago. He called me today because one of his has something
wrong with either one or both of its legs.

I know that this x has problems with this, and expect that I
may also have some of these problems with my birds.

Should it be seperated from the others, such as in a penned
off area where it can still see the others?
Can he splint the leg(s)?
Does it need to be culled?

Please advise.

What I do is process it when I notice one may not be moving as freely as the rest of my Cornish X....I watch them everyday.. In the morning when I let them out and again when there filing in at night....That way no suffering on there part and no waist.

My first Cornish...not knowing it was...I did what your asking...separated it...I went a step further and babied it. Giving it water and food...propping it up....

Oh boy. Anyway..I could not use it. I learned...and read on BYC

No need to seperate unless the others are picking at it. It really isn't THAT common a problem, as long as you're feeding them right, so I wouldn't worry about it happening to the rest of them.
