if they are starting to crow ya are getting close to eggs but if ya dont have them under about 14 15 hours of light ya may have about 3 more months

when they crow it always scares me, even though i have heard it a hundred times. They need at minimum 14 hrs of light to lay. I leave there light on 24/7 and they lay every day. Make sure you are giving them a quality layer feed or they will have problems.

Oh I love that noise...I have several cages and when one starts up on their tippy toes, they all start. It is so cute to watch those little roos crow.

Well, coturnix are not the quietest birds on the block.
In large, they are pretty silent, but one loaner roo can really grate on your nerves. At least xx humans. The xy humans are usually immune.
I hear it, it's loud, but usually dismissed.

The crowing isn't that loud. I have my birds in the house and if you aren't in the den with the birds, you can barely hear it over the usual house noise. It's really cute actually

Yep sounds like your boys have hit that time in their lives! Also imagine that sound when you have 10-20 males all doing it around the same time. It can be easily fixed though if you like the taste of quail
