Here is my roo Valiant, he has feathered legs and his tail looks like a chochin, he has a beard and is a lovely rooster, takes care of the chicks of his favourite Orpington, she is twice his size. Can anyone tell me what he is?
I'm trying to catch him to count his toes but he's fast! His tail feathers look all neat and tidy like a Cochin, you can't tell from the picture though, but he wouldn't stand still for me to get a good shot. I looked up Faverolles and their tail feathers are long, his isn't at all which is why I thought maybe some sort of Cochin mix.
Did you read @sourland's post? Faverolle mix. He's a mixed breed with some Faverolle in his background. He doesn't match a purebred Salmon Faverolle, but he's got enough of the breed characteristics, that it's a logical conclusion that there is some Faverolle in his pedigree.
I caught him, he has 4 toes and his spurs are not yet fully formed so he's young. Maybe his tail will get longer? Does that mean that he is all Salmon Faverolle?
