This is a 1920's date DH & I went on. We went to an old 1920's theatre downtown to see a showing of the original Phantom of the Opera. We were the only ones dressed up & people thought the theatre had hired us to walk around during intermission.

That is fantastic! Love the attention to detail. One problem I always have is getting my husband to let me dirty him up for the pirate outfit. Looks like this man embraced the soot just fine lol

I love this. I also restore old clothing, mostly formalwear, and sew them from antique patterns. Your dress is beautiful and you even got the correct style of shoes! And the beaded bagVery well done. I'm hoping to 1920s get up together for new years eve this year!

Thanks! The last few years, I've been trying to teach myself how to sew. I'm not very good at it yet so lot of my stuff is bought. I can struggle through the accessories & DD is super talented & makes a lot of her own Steampunk stuff.

If I could make clothes as well as you do, I'd never leave the house (except for trips to the fabric store & to do photo shoots) so maybe its just as well that I cant. I did make DH an Oogie Boogie man costume to go with DD's (Nightmare Before Christmas) Sally. After all, even I cant mess up burlap.

My DH is a pretty good sport about dressing up. The key with him is letting him dirty up his own face. That crazy guy used real soot. He said it'd be more authentic & he was right.

I'll have to get the pictures on here, but my husband has done Savage Opress (Darth Maul's brother), and then 2 other color and pattern versions of the same species, one in purple and black and one in white and black. I do his face paint, takes about 2 hours to do it all and get him ready to go...

We also ren fest, so there are lots and lots of costumes for that....
