Cost of Coturnix eggs

Now that I have decided on the kind of quail i want I need to know about how much I can expect to pay for eggs to hatch. I have an incubator and the co-op sells a quail egg insert for 14.99.

I think the box has been there for years, it had a layer of dust on it so thick i had to wipe it off to read the back of the box. Gotta love small town co-ops.

Actually, LG has gone from the little cups that fit onto the standard (Chicken) trays to real quail egg trays. Having said that, $15 for either the trays or cups seams like a deal to me. You may get a better price online, but if all you need are the quail cups/trays, then $15 isn't a bad price for 1/4 lb. of plastick.

If you need the whole setup, bator,turner,quail racks, ect...
Then defiantly check out gqfmfg.com, or others to purchase the complete package.

I broke down and bought that one. Now I just need to build a hatcher for it, but I digress....

The cost of coturnix hatching eggs are another matter. You can buy eggs from people on the board (PM them for pricing and availability) If you want certain colors, or other, then you can pay top dollar and order eggs from a hatchery. Average cost $20 a dozen. It's a matter of what you want and what you are willing to pay.
I will be happy to reefer you to hatcheries or board members who have coturnix eggs for hatching.

the cost per egg depends on where you get them from and how many you get. go to ebay and search for them(of course shipping drives up the cost) I have a guy here locally that sells them for $5.00/2.5 dozen and another that sells them $3.00 a dozen . I was refered to JJMR for some eggs might check with him

I paid 14.99 plus chipping for my quail trays at GQF... I havent found any set price for Coturnix eggs yet but have bought a dozen two days ago for 8.00 plus shipping and am bidding on 2 dozen Jumbos at the moment.. Bid is 10.00
