Well, our feed bill will go down a bit now. We had a coyote in the yard yesterday - in broad daylight! He killed two of my hens.
Guess we have some varmint hunting to do.
Well, actually we will be going through even more feed. When my chickens are locked up as they will be for the next few days and while we are gone next weekend, they go through a tremendous amount of feed!! Like 30-40 pounds in about 3 days. Why do they eat so much when they are inside? When they are free ranging, the same 30-40 pounds will last for 10 days. Are they just bored?
