So how the heck do you guys make "change" over there?

My lesson:

something costs $1.99

buy 5 of the object:

total cost is $10.95 Hence: I save 5 cents xD
We round it to the nearest 5

perhaps I should get my mates to send me some
went to Australia a couple of years ago
Melbourne and Sydney, I still keep in contact with some dudes down there

You know the Gov. has hundreds of thousands of the new president dollar coins. Maybe more. nobody is taking them. they have to build a second warehouse just to keep those in.

I told my dad if they didnt want them i would take them off of their hands.

I see some of them circulating around here. People like to hold onto them though. I still have Susan B. Anthony dollars from years ago. I fill the pop machine at the local park and was surprised that the machines actually accept dollar coins. I find about $10 of dollar coins in there every every couple weeks. I've even had people buy eggs here and dropped them in our coffee can. My wife takes them and sticks them in a drawer like they are collector's items...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it now costs more than five cents to make a U.S. nickle.

U.S. pennies have been made out of zinc with a thin wash of copper since 1982. Nickles will change before very long too.

I suspect eventually they'll all be made of plastic.
