Cotton-tailed Rabbits Might Be Attacking Chickens

Most time all works well but a couple areas appear to be enforced as no goes for the chickens. The area are dominated by Buckbrush.

Those are not Cotton-tailed Rabbits. Mine have antlers.

Find an active rabbit nest and observe what goes on around as chickens forage there. I have had does actually get sassy with me as I checked out their nest. One even came up at dog that was in process of eating her brood. Attempts there futile but occasional good outcomes could make effort worthwhile.

What is shown below I think is not all that rare. Most such battles are done in high weeds obscuring our view.

That is one pissed off rabbit!

Tonight I found some of the chickens encircling a rabbit...I'm not sure what this was about. The rabbit ran away....

Looks like mobbing behavior. My chickens direct similar at snakes.
