Coturnix 2 day old chicks with 10 day old chicks?

The person I got my quail chicks from called today and said he had a few more from that group hatch out and I could have them if I wanted them. When I went to pick them up they only looked a couple days old (my first ones are around 10 days old). Can I put them in the brooder together? They look so tiny now that my others are getting bigger.

What do you think?

I wouldn't. With that much of a size difference the smaller ones are likely to get injured or trampled to death.

At what age would they be ok together?

When they're all about the same size. For me that's usually when the youngest are 5-6 weeks old.

I had an extended hatch with two a week late, I just taped some newspaper inside the brooder to section off a warm part for the little ones. Think I removed it when they were all a week old.
