Coturnix 3 weeks sexing

With the mutations the really only way to sex them is to wait. You can try a vent sex but that takes some expirence to get good at.

yep i agree with Sam here.....I gave up on vent sexing a long time ago he he!!!

Now, when they're 6 weeks old, if they are kept under lighting atleast 14 hours a day, you can just look at their vent and if they look swollen/reddish those are males in breeding condition. Males NOt in breeding condition DONT have this.

darn it...I wanted a fun easy way that is color oriented and a bit faster...didn't figure there was one! Buddy did teach me how do 100% make sure it is a male! He has cornish so is all AI

i do the what i call (bubbles ) LOL

when i vent sex the males if you take your fingers and press on the sides of the vent you will see bubbles or foam sometimes it's not alot but it's there

and the females when you do it there is no foam and so far it's been 100% on point for me

OOH okay then you sex the same way i do lol! They dont produce that until they're mature, so that's why im able to tell at 5-6 weeks if they haven't crowed by then that is.
