Hector there are so many variables in this question it aint even funny! keep in mind, the older the hen the bigger her eggs. add to that the fact that there are a great many sizes of both speces in question--- my maiden hens lay small eggs (both cot and bw) but the girls with seniority can crank out some whoppers--- my butlers get quite big, but all in all I find that some coturnix girls are amazing. I often get coturnix eggs nearly as big as my serama chicken eggs --- makes you wonder how in the world can something that big comes out of a bird that size???
Sorry to bring this back up again but, Im just kind of worried I started selling my bobwhite eggs but there a lot smaller than the coturnix eggs I have in my bator, just wanna make sure that the size difference its normal and its not that my quails arent laying good size eggs yet, I dont wanna statr bad and have a bunch of customers angry cuz the eggs are too small.
here are some pics of my bobwhite eggs and two coturnix eggs.
