One of my silkies hatched and I have an early pip in one of my RIR's

Yeah. Never thought I'd be so excited for some little quail Leta hope a good portion of your chicks hatch

I know right? It seems a bit silly but there was nobody to see my excited/happy dance when the eggs finally arrived so why not? lol I've been having a hard time peeling myself away from them. Jeez they're tiny and so darned cute! I can't wait to see pics of yours. I'm now wishing I had gotten a variety.

I've been trying to convince Pickle that we're going to be friends. He's not convinced yet lol

I'm hoping they all hatch. I've got 10 in lockdown. 5 RIR and 5 Silkies. And I've got 3 more Silkies that go into lockdown tomorrow morning.

I kinda did this excited laugh when they got here and my family were all looking at me and a few said" that's not very manly for a workaholic " I was just to **** excited and the so called "laugh" kinda slipped
I think I'll just stick with quail and get rid of my chickens or just not get more. I'm regretting only getting the wild type. So in the near future I'm going to get more

Well the RIR aren't mine. They're for my grandmother. Her flock is getting older and not laying as well as she'd like. The roos will go in the freezer so if she doesn't end up with many hens I'm considering offering her my barred rocks. I'd be sad to see them go but they're such good layers that they'd be more useful at her house. She took in a few family members (2 of them teenage boys lol) so they could use the extra eggs. I couldn't give up chickens personally but to each their own

Gotta keep them from being skinny. have them buck some hay to build a good foundation after doing all this research on quail im starting to hate chickens more and more they were alright wernt my favorite farm animal but now they seem pointless to me.
It was funny after i thougt about it for a sec but at first i though i lost my man hood

Pointless?? You sir have clearly never watched chickens play soccer with a treat ball! Okay honestly I can see your point. At least as far as production goes. I just happen to adore them. And mine have a lot of personality. Although, I do threaten to put them in the stew pot regularly lol

Lol. theres atleast 6 with veins not 100% sure on the others. only time will tell
