Coturnix in lockdown, when should I become concerned?

this is true. im juat worried if they hatch and are in there for more than 24 hours and something happens like a heat spike in the bator and i come home to a bator full of dead chicks :c

Do you have a family member that can check on the temp occasionally? Well if the temp has been pretty steady so far then you probably have nothing to worry about.

Other than all the horrors an expectant hatcher can think up without the bator in direct line of sight

Hmmm better to hope for the best in that case lol that guy with the color variety quail finally emailed back. He's got a lot of the different colors. I asked for better pictures of his birds so I had an idea of what I would be ordering. I think I have at least 2 males so obviously I'm going to need more girlfriends for them lol

He listed most of the colors from that website you were talking about but didn't get specific on the tuxedo colors and 'some with unusual markings'. So I'm waiting to hear back with pics and more info. I carefully inspected chest feathers and I'm about 99.5% certain that I have not just 2 but 3 roos LOL Just my luck. Now I have to decide if I want to rehome 2 of them or get enough extra eggs so all 3 have enough girlfriends

Get them all girlfriends birds are players 1 male for up to every 7 females! Lucky birds lol. I will definitely post pictures. I'm happy with the six but I'll leave the remaining 4 in for another day or 2 to see if they hatch I might try out button quail. Been reading they have more morphs

I'm kind of wondering if the one with deformed feet will be able to perform his rooster duties. He may have to stay a bachelor lol poor guy. Button quail would be cool. After coturnix I plan to get a few gamble quail. I love the way they look. And of course the snowflake bobwhite.

I hope the others hatch too. And how many roos and hens you ended up with lol I had 4 ducks hatch so far and I've got 1 female and 3 males there too.

he might have a hard time lol. 8 have hatch so far only 2 left to hatch one is still in the bator the rest were dry so i but them in the brooder. i had a bowl in there with some dust and one hopped in it an knocked it over the second i put it in there LOL if fell on a few but they seem fine. im happy with what i got lol
