coturnix in the wild?

i was out hunting this morning and was hearing coturnix quail calling in the state forest. then on my way out i saw 3 coturnix. can they survive a Minnesota winter? im talking -50f it gets cold here

i wonder if someone could trap them before winter sets in ?

I doubt they could survive the winter, probably someone was using them for hunting and didn't catch them all up. I've had some escape when I'm feeding, one just a week ago at most. It lived maybe 3 days before we found it dead.

no quail to be seen or heard today. must not have made it through the night. poor little guys.
