For those that have ground enclosures for their coturnix quail and have nesting boxes... about what dimensions would be good to use? I know I have read that many don’t use them, but would still like some as options

I was thinking of making at least one for some sort of shelter “if” they wanted.. or “if” that is where they wanted to go to drop eggs... just giving them options ... I just have no idea what dimensions to use? So you think maybe a 5x5 ??I don't know about nesting boxes, not exactly, but my girls don't tend to lay in cardboard boxes or huts larger than a square foot. They seem to like low doors—their favorite hiding/laying places are ones where they have to duck to get in.
If you make some, I wouldn't recommend making many. From personal experience, multiple hens are happy to lay in only one or two spots (sometimes at the same time!).
Thank you for your input!! I just had no idea what to even start with to try.. much appreciated for some “size” guidanceMaybe 6x6 or 7x7.....
