Oh, thank you for checking in. It didn’t go well. 1 chick made it out on its own, and the next day I was able to assist two others, but all other babes had died in their shells. The 3 were doing well, but our little tux died a couple of days after in the brooder. I still have 2, and they are keeping each other company. I did put another batch in right away (now that I know what went wrong, (We did a dry incubation this time) and they just went into lockdown today. Hopefully we will have many more babes by this weekend! What a tragic learning curve this was on the first go’round, but I hope things end up much happier this time!

She has become so big. What a lovely quail. Looks like a girl to me.

The moma of my unborn chicks has died today. She was just 6 months old. She was tge biggest of all my quail. I have 7 of her eggs in my homemade incubator. I hope all of them will be fine.
This was she just some minutes before dying.
