Coturnix quail in 0 degree F

If they are out of the elements, no drafts, and are dry, they can handle temperatures down to -20°F, without supplemental heat....but even with that having been said, if you have any weak or old birds, they may not handle the low temps as well as strong healthy birds.

Thank you for this info. Do you count 8 month old quail, old? I have a few month old batch and a 8 month old group. Thx,

I was wondering, I have some quail with a bare stop on their back. My quail got in a bit of a fight some time ago so some have a featherless portion on their back. Without draft would they be OK? Their from my newer batch. Thank you.

8 months old is prime of life, not old. They'll be fine. The one with the bare spot should also be fine as long as you have small shelters/hides for them. Those little places warm up with their body heat.
Thank you for this info! I decided to bring in the ones with the bare spots before I saw your comment. But I left the older hens and the younger (roosters?) outside.
I didn't know that. I thought my quail were old. How old is "old" for coturnix quail, In lifespan terms? My quail are outdoor pets (my family does meat ones as well, but mine are pets), how likely do you think my males could live to 3 yrs? Thank you for your valuable info and time,

2 years is getting up there, but they can live as long as 5 years, though that is rare.
