coturnix quail parent size

I have some Coturnix Quail I hatched recently. My "jumbo" ones only weigh about 175 grams at 5 weeks, and Texas A&M are about 230 grams at 5 weeks. Do both parents need to be large for large offspring? Does jumbo female and large male make an average of the two? Or will the egg size best the better indicator of offspring?

Set the biggest eggs from the biggest birds...if you are looking to keep your birds on the big side.

I read, in breeding the inheritance of size lies by the male ... the female give more the frame. The size comes from the male.

But just theortical knowlege!
