Coturnix quail possibly trying to hatch eggs?

So I was out of town for about 3 days and the moment I got back I went to my aviary to check on my quail, when I got there I saw eggs scattered around the ground... Like always. but when I opened the box I have inside the aviary this is what I found:


I know 2 of my female quail spend a whole lot of time in the box... Could this mean one of them is trying to hatch eggs?

Most likely the hens are using it as a community nest. Birds are most comfortable laying where others have layed their eggs. This tells them it is safe to sit there a while.

Time will tell if one of the hens sets on them!

I'm gonna go ahead and leave the eggs in there for a bit and check on it regularly. Maybe I have some brooders?
