Coturnix Quail Roosters - Can They Make Good Fathers?

Just out of curiosity, if a hen were to incubate and hatch her eggs in an established group, would the rooster be okay with the chicks, or would he need to be removed to prevent killing them? I've seen paternal data regarding bobwhites and mearns but nothing about Japanese quail.

It depends on the bird. I have a male who loves brooding and raising chicks, but I wouldn’t trust many of my males.

I agree with @FloorCandy I wouldn't trust a roo with them, but that doesn't mean that ones that are good with chicks don't exist.
