I just weighed my largest and my smallest (Jumbo brown) coturnix in my brooder. They were hatched on the 16th, making them just shy of two weeks old.
My two largest were a little over two ounces. My absolute smallest is only .5 ounce. The other 24 weigh somewhere between the two, more toward the higher end than the lower. The two silkies in with them weigh about 3 ounces.
Just weighed some of my 5 week old birds. The A&M's are around 5.75 oz with some 6.5. The jumbo brown hen is 6.5. So maybe these will reach the normal 10 oz or bigger in 12 weeks or so. They will certainly not be HUGE jumbo birds as I was promised they would be.
Anyone with birds around the 5 week mark and have some weights?

I have a 'My Weigh' scale I bought on line. It has a bowl. I put a paper towel in it and lay a plastic lid on top or a piece of hardware cloth over the op and use the tare to set it to 0. Then I set each bird in and get the weight. Very easy and quick. They ususally just sit there and behave for the few seconds it takes.
