Could a Pregnancy test ever be wrong?

A friend of mine had her tubes tied. 10 years later without having them untied she found herself to be pregnant. She has a beautiful Boy now!

She must have drank from the byc water cooler

Yeah, I would worry about an ectopic pregnancy...heck I HAVE worried about everything with my two boys, but chances are she'll be fine.

I don't think there is anything that can give 3 false positives...except if she were taking a bunch of "wholistic" vitamin supplements from china.

But even then... HGC is HUMAN chorionic gonadotropin so: preggers.

i went through something similar and both of those pregnancies were ectopic (tubal) so if I was her I would go to the DR insist on an Ultrasound to make sure its where it should be and then insist on an HCG level count.

In my/family experience when it read positive....it was positive.
Although my cousin had her tubes tied and missed a cycle, and tested, it was positive, but after an ultrasound was performed, to make sure it was not an ectopical (sp) pregnancy, they seen that their was no baby, just the sac that would surround a baby.

I agree with kcacres on the test -

I never had to take one. I have an internal pregnancy testing system....Puking....I always knew I was pregnant all 3 times by starting to puke non stop. I had severe hyperemesis all 3 times and spent most of mine in the hospital dying. I would love to have another baby for my DH because he wants more but the doc said I would most likely die because my body couldn't take that again and they fixed me. I had to have several surgeries after my pregnancies from damage to my body from the hyperemesis.

I love that pregnant glow on women when they look so happy and healthy....Congrats to your friend if she is!!

We'll all get together and send her little chicken-shaped hats.

My body had the same action in HS, but luckily she was just late, and hadn't taken a test. Wasted perfectly good pizza for nothing.
