Could any one tell me about Welsummers?

PS: My mom wanted a couple of Marans, so I got her two Marans. I seen on this site the Wellies also lay very dark brown eggs. I got me and her six Wellies to split up,. She loved the Wellies so much, I gave her mine too. She use to have Brown Leghorns she thought were beautiful, but she preferred brown eggs.

Here are two of my mom's Wellies:

I have a welsummer named Wendy. They are a great breed. Not the BEST egg layer, but OK. Wendy's eggs are dark, but nowhere near as dark as my Black Copper Marans, Maizie Mae. If you want a good hen that's easy to handle, you'd love a welsummer. You'd also love a Barnevelder. IMO, they are a better egg layer than welsummers.
