I am a first time mom to Silkies. I bought 10 to begin with from our local farm store and then the 2 white ones a few days later.
That would make them about 14-16 days old. I have looked on here to compare colors and I'm still not sure what colors they are. The bigger white ones seem to be a solid color and they have a small poof at the top. These two are very skittish, not very docile yet. The smallest one has a lot of hair on the legs and is very shy, this one has beautiful coloring and tail feathers that feather out and are long. Then, there is the one that is solid on the back, buff color but then has black everywhere else. This baby is not showing any signs of feathers on top and his/her bottom is rounded and puffy, unlike the others that feather out..Does this help, or does it confuse you more? Thanks, BTW. What is a waddle or where is the waddle?

Those look like silkie crosses to me..Welcome to byc!! Glad you could join the Flock! Let me know if you need anything!:wee:woot:welcome:highfive::yesss:
Crosses, I was thinking the same thing.. I thought, do I have a frizzle. The only thing I knew to do for sure was to look at their toes and count, yep 5. I really wanted to get rid of a few of them but I have no idea what to say their color is. I thought, splash? I am so new to this and I ordered silkies but I had to do a minimum of 10. What do you think they may be crossed with? Thanks

This diagram shows where the wattles are, right below the beak. But since yours are so young you probably can’t see much of any wattle development yet!

This is awesome and the first I have seen. You can search google and not come up with anything this good! I'm sure this is a great reference for all of us newbs.
