I collect the eggs at least twice a day. I'm thinking it's an embryo but after numerous google searches I can't find anything that looks like this that has no blood vessels. It's also very large, if it was straightened out it would be about 10cm long and it's way too chunky to go down the sink

I've had it a lot of times, are your hens young? That was my problem. I still have the same hens but don't get it anymore. Don't ask what it is, just saying I wouldn't eat it.

Thanks for that, at least I'm not the only 1 who's had this, but no they're not that young they range from about 3 years to 1 year. Maybe it's an older girl who laid it, sometimes they lay funny ones as they get older I think. I worm them every 3 month and they free range round 2 acres from about 6.30am to dusk every day

Now that is interesting. I haven't seen that yet. And no, I am pretty sure I wouldn't eat it either. :/ They can lay some interesting eggs at times for sure.
