I'm a little over a mile away from the sirens and today was the first test at 10 am.

It was cold today and I had the windows closed and the tv was on because I wanted to live "normally" and see if I could here it.

So after not hearing it...I shut the tv off and opened a window but still it was very faint.

I'm a little bit dissappointed. I was considering calling the village and letting them know my area (I'm on farm side but behind me is a huge number of subdivisions) couldn't hear it so well.

hmm.

I'd call them. I'm for sure over a mile away form ours, but hear it pretty well.

Funny story, the first time I EVER heard tornado sirens - it was 3 in the morning, hubby and I were asleep, I woke to hear the sirens, I was thinking to myself "why are they testing the sirens at 3am?" Then I realized, oh wait, there must be a tornado warning, scared the poo out of me, I had no idea what to do, I grew up in VA - not many tornados there. That was a nice "Welcome to Texas"!!
