Could I make a Mottled Polish Chicken?

I love the look of mottled polish chickens but have not been able to find any to purchase. I own several other colors of polish chickens and one mottled houdan pullet. Would I be able to incorporate any colors to create a mottled polish chicken over time? Or any suggestions on where I could find mottled polish hatching eggs? Thanks.

You’re probably right. The pictures I’ve seen online from breeders looks too good to be true. Here’s one from a Google search.

That the only pic I’ve seen of a mottled polish. When u look up mottled polish it brings up mottled Houdans.

Though a mottled polish would be pretty!

That does look like a mottled polish. It’s probably a project color, meaning it’s very rare.

If you have a white crested black polish, that would be the best one to cross to your mottled Houdan.

Tolbunt polish are mottled just gold laced rather than black. If you didn't want to outcross to another breed and wanted to make mottled from colors that are already found in polish perhaps the tolbunt over a white crested black might work? It would be a longer project especially seeing as mottling is recessive and you'd probably have to do plenty of backcrossing to the white crested black to get back to a non leaking black bird but it might be another option.
